BODDY is a Zurich-based travel and wellness technology company that connects travelers with fitness and wellness experiences through a mobile platform. The company enables users to discover, compare, book, and access providers in a flexible and contactless way, while also creating value for partners such as hotels, OTAs, airlines, and insurance companies.

Following strong commercial growth, BODDY needed a communication setup that could serve both a larger user base and a more complex partner ecosystem without losing relevance or agility.

Background

The project gained urgency after BODDY acquired TrainAway in 2023, which sharply increased the size of its database and made customer communication more complex.

Mautic was a strong fit for this use case because it supports scalable, customizable marketing automation without the escalating software costs that often accompany growth in closed platforms. Through Aivie, BODDY could combine the adaptability of Mautic with practical support on deliverability, segmentation, and campaign execution.

Aims

The main objective was to continue delivering timely and personalized email communication after the TrainAway acquisition, even as the audience expanded into six figures. The project also aimed to protect deliverability during contact import, improve segmentation, reduce manual work, and replace a costly legacy setup with a more sustainable solution.

A further challenge was operational rather than purely technical: BODDY wanted to preserve a close, personal brand experience while scaling communications across a much broader and more diverse user base.

 

Outcomes

Aivie supported BODDY with a structured migration and deliverability strategy, including GDPR- compliant contact import, phased warm-up, and segmentation to help maintain inbox placement as the database expanded. The collaboration also included the design of more personalized journeys for different user groups, shaped around customer history and communication needs. The result was a more scalable communication model that helped BODDY reach a six-figure audience and reduce manual effort through automation. Public statements from BODDY also highlight that Aivie’s platform helped the team maintain a personal touch as the audience grew and benefited from direct, practical collaboration with the Aivie team.
