Mautic Community Sprint Berlin

This week we brought together roughly 20 people in Berlin, with more joining online. It was an inspiring mix of familiar faces and newcomers, all coming together with the shared goal of moving things forward.

What Happened

The product team focused on closing open PRs and made serious headway on PHPStan baseline improvements. They also worked on the setup for testing PRs, so that testing can become easier and more efficient. It might seem less glamorous work than developing new features, but the kind of foundational work that matters.

Features for Mautic 8 were the focus of another group. They spent time brainstorming and discussing what should come next. The result: plenty of good ideas, and you should expect some of them to land.

The chatbot for the Mautic website is happening. What was worked on over the last year by different community members, now received its finishing touches. First priority of it: help volunteers who want to contribute getting easily on board. Second: give people a first point of support when they’re getting familiar with the project.

Another core problem got tackled too: how do we help newcomers (and people evaluating Mautic) understand what this project actually is and which flavor fits their needs? More “how to get started” content is coming out of this work.

Also, the sprint gave us space to collect more ideas on fundraising and generating revenues for the project that could strengthen our long-term sustainability.

What’s Next

The sprint filled a lot of notepads. An important part of the work starts now: turning those ideas into real momentum, not letting them sit in someone’s notes forever. That’s what matters.
