Welcoming Nick Vanpraet and Patryk Gruszka as full members of the Mautic security team

Nick Vanpraet and Patryk Gruszka have become full members of the Mautic security team.

Most people in our community will never read a security advisory, and that is rather the point. When the security team does its job well, the story is that nothing happened. No incident, no scramble, no erosion of trust. It is quiet, careful work, and it depends entirely on people willing to do it without applause.

Both Nick and Patryk have been working diligently alongside the Security Team during their probationary period, learning how we operate and showing the care and discretion that security work asks for.

Becoming a full member is not something we hand out lightly – it carries real responsibility, including sight of sensitive reports long before they are public, and a duty to handle them with the seriousness they deserve.

Their step up strengthens something our whole community relies on, which is the capacity to respond quickly and thoroughly when a vulnerability is reported, without a small handful of people carrying the entire load.

Thank you, and an invitation

Nick, Patryk, thank you both. I’m grateful for all your work and collaboration to keep Mautic secure. Thanks also to your employers, Dropsolid and Leuchtfeuer, for supporting you in this work.

If security is your field, or you would like it to be, our security team is always open to conversations with people who want to contribute. You do not need to be an expert to begin. You need curiosity, reliability, and a willingness to learn how we work, and ideally the support of your employer to give you time in your working hours to support this important work.
